Two Coins?

If you are like me, you probably think using coins is annoying. I usually end up finding them on the floor of the car, in a random pocket somewhere, or rattling around in the dryer. I pretty much treat them as worthless. In fact, I bet if you had a couple pennies in your hand right now, you would be wondering how to get rid of them too.

There's a popular story in the Bible (Mark 12:42, Luke 21:2) where Jesus notices a widow who brings two of the lowest denomination Roman coins to the temple as her offering. You see, even though she only brought two pennies, Jesus knew her. He didn't see her smallest of offerings as worthless. He recognized those two coins as everything she had to give. And when He saw her sacrifice, He called the deciples together and explained that she had given more than all the other rich people, who had been making a show of their offerings.

No, Two Coins isn't about your money.

Two Coins is about your offering.

What parts of your life are you carrying around and ignoring... like they are worthless? What abilities, talents and gifts are you treating like they are only worth a couple pennies?

Those abilities you have are a gift. And, when you give them back to God, he knows you! He sees the value when no one else does. Catch this... God does compare your Two Coins to the vast wealth of those who have so much more to give! The difference is, He sees your Two Coins differently than you do. He see's your offering of everything as something far greater than many of the greatest offerings that we see every day.

You might not buy buildings for worldwide organizations.

You might not speak to thousands of people every weekend.

You might not be trending on Spotify.

You might only have Two Coins.

Here's the thing. When you give everything you have to bless a homeless person, speak to a group of 3, or sing your very best original song to an empty room, you have blessed God more than the giants of modern ministry who casually give out of their abundance. When you choose to put God first, and bring your very best, there is nothing that can compare in His eyes.

If you feel like the world around you is saying what you have is worthless, know this; your Two Coins are worth everything to Him!

God sees your offering. He knows it's true worth. He is the one who tells everyone about it when you quietly give all that you have. He is the one smiling when you bring your offering of everything, and that's all that matters.

Don't be ashamed of your offering. Rush to the temple with all that you have, knowing that the one who holds it all loves and appreciates everything you have to give!

Two Coins - An offering of everything.
